The history of the Tudor Submariner dates back to 1950s when the first in a long line of ergonomic, legible, accurate and robust Tudor divers’ watches was launched. The sixty years that followed the launch of the original 7922 saw the constant improvement of the TUDOR divers’ watch and for many many years they retained the vintage styling that Rolex had already moved on from.
The key features of this vintage styling were the matte dial, plexiglass and folded bracelet that continued decades after Rolex had moved on to forged links - all of which are to be found in this beautiful vintage watch.
From the blue dial and Snowflake hands to the rich blue bezel insert and the folded bracelet, this Tudor Snowflake is an outstanding example of a vintage Tudor
This particular pre-owned Tudor Submariner was bought from Laings of Edinburgh in 1981 and has aged beautifully, clearly having been very carefully worn over the last 40 years as the case, bracelet, dial and hands are truly superb. The watch comes with virtually everything that came with it from new including the boxes, papers, wallet and even the original Tudor anchor.
The folded bracelet is currently set to fit a 6 1/2 inch wrist but there are spare links are in the box that could be easily fitted.
Recently tested and passing with flying colours, this is an outstanding example and a rare opportunity.
