We love Panerai watches here and this Panerai Radiomir PAM 214 Rattrapante is an absolute stunner.
While Panerai have been making watches since 1860, they were virtually exclusively supplied to the Italian Navy until 1993 and have only been really readily available since 1997 – this puts Panerai in something of a unique position because they are a young brand with decades of history in their DNA.
Slightly smaller than the original models, this watch is still large at 45mm across and has an interesting and rare 'Rattrapante'complication - unlike standard chronographs, a Rattrapante has a split seconds function allowing the user to stop one chrono hand - to time a lap for instance - while leaving one running for an overall time. Ok - so you may not use it as originally intended but Rattrapantes have two very slender chronograph hands and they always look beautiful, especially when they're running.
The case of this watch looks perfect although I’m sure a keen eye must be able to find something to show for its years…the b dial and hands are of course unmarked.
This pre-owned Panerai PAM 214 comes with the original registration book and papers, manual, inner and outer boxes, the original genuine leather Panerai strap and the Panerai stickers.
It's just been tested so it’s guaranteed to be in perfect running order and won’t need looking at for several years yet.
